So I’ve been working feverishly on a new series of acrylic and marker drawings. The series currently consists of about 20 pieces, but I have a feeling it will grow. Normally I am not big on showing art during the process so I am going to try with this one as time goes on.
Also on a side note, I will be moving all my tech related articles to another site as it really doesn’t relate on this artists’ blog.
Recently, I took a trip to see some friends in Connecticut and while driving through the Fairfield countryside I couldn’t help but fall in a trance. The leaves were starting to change, the animals were scurrying about and everyone’s mood was more relaxed, then normal.
I urge anyone whose has never had a chance to see the Northeast countryside during the fall to do so. When you return, your head will be full of ideas and your color palette overflowing with reds, yellows, oranges and browns. Remember to keep a sketchbook by and a sharpened pencil.
Have to give a big thank you to Ryan at the Front Porch for meeting me after work to set up my piece for the First Friday Artwalk. “Graphic Rebellion” will be on display there during the month of October. I hope you can get a chance to go check it out.
On other note, I have been working on a couple other pieces lately and hope to start putting up photos of them this weekend.
So life has been a little crazy since finishing school for the year. Business is good with my company, JS Designs, and I’ve also a had a increase in ideas in what art I want to create. The freedom that I now feel to create is a blessing form my normal day to day job of creating for the client. Don’t get me wrong I love to create and develop campaigns and pieces for my clients. It’s just sometimes there are so many restrictions.
In October I will featuring a couple new pieces at Merle’s Downtown and The Front Porch both located in downtown Springfield. It will be a fun couple of shows, one of the businesses will be moving locations so this will be their last event in the that space. I am still toying with the idea of totally different pieces between the locations, as I am currently exploring two different areas. We will see what is decided, see you at the show!
Tomorrow I start a new chapter in my life, that of a grad student. Not going to lie but I’m a little nervous in the sense on not being able to do that and run a company all at the same time. Come to think of it, if I wasn’t nervous then we might have some issues. This journey will take about 3 years and should be a fun trip. My plan is to post my progress/artwork for the world to see and comment on. Criticism is welcome and encouraged, understand that harsh or offensive criticism will not be tolerated as it is unnecessary. I actually challenge you as a viewer to discuss and critic the work. Look for more coming soon…
The countdown is on for the next stage of evolution for Adobe’s Creative Suite. For all of you design junkies, here’s the website with a countdown http://cs5launch.adobe.com .
It only seems like yesterday, September 23, 2008 to be exact, the announcement came that CS4 was here. The new tools and features offered will revolutionize the way design is executed in “our” world. So naturally when I came across an article earlier today, I was shocked to think it’s been almost 2 years. How can they improve, what bugs have they fixed, and what new ways have they incorporated social advertising tools into their software? These and many more questions will be answered soon…
If you were able to read my first couple posts then feel privileged. Last night, I went to update to a new theme and it caused the white screen of death. Unfortunately, I could not recover any of my previous posts meaning that I lost some information. Over the next day or two I will be adding back the content that was lost. Have a good morning everyone!
